Background/Experience that you think is beneficial to Doula work: I have been a professional nanny for the past 4 years in which I have cared for an infant boy, infant twin girls, school age children, and most recently I have done overnight care for several sets of infant twins for various families. I have completed training with ProDoula and am currently a pre-certifiedpostpartum doula. I will soon begin training for certification as a newborncare specialist

What led you to become a Doula?: I have been taking care of newborns and infants quite a lot in the past few years, and through that, I have also found myself to be very helpful to the mother and whole family as they adjust to a having a new baby. It is extremely rewarding and fulfilling.

What are some positive comments made about you by other people?: My passion for babies and helping families is so apparent and I’m always happiest when doing so.

What are your favorite pregnancy/parenting resources?: Harvey Karp’s Happiest Baby On The Block book and video, www.babysleepsite.com, www.babycenter.com, and various online and facebook mom discussion groups.

What thoughts come to mind when you see a pregnant woman or brand new mom?: I know what she’s going through as I have my own little one at home (now a toddler) and how much I just want to help her with that precious new baby because postpartum support is priceless!

What is the best gift you can give a new mom (as a Doula)?: Being there as both a physical presence and emotional support

What is your favorite TV show or movie?: Gilmore Girls (re-runs on Netflix!)

What is your favorite place to vacation?: Anywhere that has a beach!

What is your favorite food?: Kansas City Barbeque and Chipotle Chicken Tacos

What is your favorite way to spend a day off?: Spending time with my daughter, reading, listening to good music (Carrie Underwood), and watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix

Who lives in your house?: Me, my husband Bryan, and our daughter Kayla
