About the Colorado Owner

Jena Monk Riley

has over 12 years of hands on experience working with families. Over that time period, she has worked with and shared the lives with nearly 100 families. Her primary focus for the past 4 years has been on the well being and healthy development of newborns, multiples and the postpartum parents.

Jena has a Bachelors Degree in Developmental Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Metropolitan State College of Denver. Since becoming the owner in October of 2004, her primary focus has been on the attachment and bonding of newborn babies. She is becoming certified as a Postpartum Doula through CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association). Jena is also a member of the CDA (Colorado Doulas Association) as well as infant CPR and First Aid certified.

After beginning as a nanny at a very young age, working primarily with newborns, Jena found that her passion was working with infants. Also being the oldest of four girls and her youngest sister being twelve years younger, she had lots of practice and patience. She began to work overnights to help out previous employers with newborns as well as traveling with families or staying with the children while the parents traveled. Jena became a Night Nanny with Night Nannies for Newborns, LLC in 2003 and then the owner of the agency.

Night Nannies for Newborns, LLC was founded by Tricia Eaves Licata in 2001, after she noticed an overwhelming need for this type of service and not enough qualified or trained professionals.

Jena is recently married with three babies, Spencer, a blue merle Sheltie and 2 cats, Tori and Buddy. In her spare time, she is writing a book from a Night Nannies perspective on sleeping and newborns. When she is not working, Jena and her husband love to go four wheeling and camping.
